The experts at Barrhead Travel say that with the lifting of travel restrictions more people are looking for dream break in the North American country that has so much to offer

With the reopening of international borders following pandemic restrictions being lifted, many holidaymakers have their hearts and minds set on a special trip to Canada.

Fully vaccinated Brits are turning their thoughts to that dream holiday visiting the breath-taking rugged scenery of the Rockies or planning to go whale watching off the Atlantic Coast.

Leading UK holiday firm Barrhead Travel has noted a rise in interest in bookings to a country which offers so much both in the way of land and sea holidays.

The firm reports that Canada is one of the most popular places to travel to right now, regularly featuring in its top ten daily destinations.

Barrhead Travel said that since international borders reopened for the double jabbed on 7th September, bookings have grown by one third while web searches for Canada holidays have increased by 135%.

The firm say enquiries continue to grow North American country particularly because of the bucket-list experiences on offer with many clients planning to take the trip of a lifetime.

The travel agency has organised a special event that runs from Friday 19-22 November to allow holidaymakers to speak to its in-store Canada specialists who have all spent a considerable time in the country.

Appointments can be in store or online as suits the travellers planning a trip to the maple leaf country.

To mark the event Barrhead has some exclusive offers including £400 off Silversea Cruises and $200 onboard credit for those booking a Celebrity Cruise.

Jacqueline Dobson, Barrhead Travel’s President, said: ‘We have noticed a marked increase in interest in holidays in Canada since the reopening of travel in September.

There is so much pent-up demand because of the restrictions that we have all faced and many people are turning their thoughts to a dream holiday in Canada.

Whether it is about experiencing the grandeur of the Rockies, vibrant cities like Vancouver or the appeal of the Atlantic Coast many different types of travellers are looking at what Canada has to offer.

People want to celebrate the reopening of international travel by scoring their long-awaited Canada trip off their bucket list.

We are also receiving enquiries from people desperate to catch up with their loved ones, given the strong family links between the two countries.”

She said the firm had also noticed a rise in customers who had not previously used a travel agent. Dobson added: “When people are looking at a major trip to Canada or Alaska, they are definitely seeking the comfort of an expert with all the up-to-the-minute knowledge to support them.”

The demand for a reputable travel agent is stronger than ever. With continuing changes to travel and testing, people need an expert who has the knowledge to support them throughout the entire booking process and who can help navigate the travel landscape. Most of all, they need someone they can trust.”
