Cullen Eco-friendly Packaging has been shortlisted for the Glasgow Business Awards in two categories: Best Performing Large Business and International Trade.
Cullen delivers 100% recyclable and biodegradable product and packaging solutions to more than 33 countries worldwide and has generated global sales of more than one billion units in the last three years.
As Europe’s only combined manufacturer of moulded pulp and corrugate packaging, Cullen works in partnership with clients ranging from the NHS to McDonald’s to supply sustainable products and packaging that combat single-use plastics.
David MacDonald, owner of Cullen, said: “Over the last five years our company has grown exponentially because of our ability to meet the packaging needs of the industrial, food and drink, horticultural and medical industries as well as the e-commerce sector.”
Their clients include McDonald’s, Greggs, Asda, Whyte & Mackay, Bunzl, Mash Direct, Siemens, Bells, Dale Farm, Brother, Fujifilm and is also part of the UK’s critical supply chain as a manufacturer for the NHS.
“We remained operational and responded to the increased demand for our products throughout the pandemic. A critical supplier to the UK national infrastructure, our staff worked hard to continue to ensure production and distribution to the NHS and food supply network.”
The Glasgow Business Awards 2021 is organised by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland and celebrate the city’s best businesses across a range of areas including innovation, health and wellbeing, communication, and overall performance.
Four of the 16 categories this year focus on sustainability to mark Glasgow’s hosting of the global COP26 event in November.
David MacDonald continued: “2020 and this year have been very challenging, and I’m absolutely delighted my team have been recognised in 2021, which coincides with our 100th anniversary and of course COP26.
“It’s a hugely exciting time for Cullen as we continue to push for change and encourage brands to re-think the need for plastic packaging. Everything we produce at Cullen is 100% plastic free and recyclable in a single waste stream.
“Our packaging creates a more sustainable future and we’re excited about what’s still to come.”
