Team Hollicom love working with clients in the Hospitality sector including the iconic Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.
We were delighted to attend a conference on March 7th as they played host to the HiT Scotland Talent Conference.
The jam-packed day, hosted by Jennifer Reoch, was attended by industry leaders, managers and scholarship hopefuls who listened to some inspirational key-note speakers and attended workshops throughout the day.
The hotel provided a stunning lunch created by new Executive Head Chef, Zoltan Szabo and his team.
Sallyann Tindall from Scottish Enterprise began the conference with some wonderfully positive news about the host city, Glasgow. Along with the new Clydeside Distillery development, there is a £1 billion investment in Glasgow University and the city’s “Clockwork Orange” subway is to have a £200 million upgrade.
Sallyann also emphasised the importance of digital planning, highlighting that only 14% of visitor attractions in the city can be booked online.
Paul Bray, General Manager said: “Glasgow is such a vibrant and inspirational place to live and work. As well as the investment into our hotel and our re-brand to an IHG Voco hotel later in the year, there are plenty of other exciting projects on the go which are sure to boost visitor numbers even more. We are always delighted to welcome the HiT team to the hotel, their work is invaluable in our industry. It was also wonderful to hear about the launch of the Andrew Fairlie Scholarship.”
And the Hollicom key message of the day? As we see visitors to Scotland from China increase, it is very apt that in 2020 Chinese New Year falls on Burns Night!
